Fostering Dialogue
Dear readers,
With the many threats of violence, economic imbalance, environmental concerns and fragile relationships among peoples, there is a rising urgency for peace and for a spirituality of unity. This is exactly what we try to do with Living City. Our Focolare Press Advisory Board confirmed this in June and August, when we reaffirmed our magazine’s mission: to foster dialogue and to work for the realization of our one human family.
Journalists, writers, staff, readers and supporters—we all form the Living City family. What can each of us do to promote this “culture of unity?”
One way is through the magazine we have in our hands, by reading it and by sending in stories and comments which help us to improve.
Then, you can also show it to friends, colleagues, your doctors, your children’s teachers, pastors or ministers, or bring it to a nursing home, to a library, to a retreat house—they may want to subscribe. Everyone is yearning for positive news (largely ignored in other media), of hope, motivation and reassurance that together we can build a better world.
This month we start our annual subscription campaign (see the ad on page 2). Won’t you join us in trying to increase our circulation?
With your support, more and more people will be reached and get to know what is underway for our common, better future. Thank you.
I hope you’ll find this issue informative and inspiring,
Clare Zanzucchi
