| Living City Wins Press Award
Living City, won the third-place award for best personality profile at the 2005 Catholic Press Association * (CPA) annual meeting held in Orlando, Florida in May 2005.
The award was given for the article, “Mary Ann Glendon,” written by Living City staff writer Joseph Klock and published in the December 2004 issue.
“Here is a fascinating illustration of how an intelligent lay woman can participate and influence the direction of the Church and the world,” the award motivation states. “The article is concise, clear and informative.”
Glendon is president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and works as a professor at the Harvard Law School.
“We appreciate Glendon’s optimism and her love for the entire human family,” Klock explained. “She makes a valuable contribution to a culture of solidarity based on the social doctrine of the Church.”
