Cube of Love Presented at “When Faith Meets Pedagogy” Conference
On October 24, as part of the “When Faith Meets Pedagogy” Conference, the various projects of the Cube of Love undertaken at St. Jerome, in Toronto, Canada in the last 5 years were presented in a workshop. The presentation prompted much enthusiasm among the 80 participants.
As part of the program, the story of the Ideal was briefly shared and then how Chiara had had the idea of the cube and the art of loving. Each of the presenters shared their experience with the cube and how its message has contributed to creating an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood in the school.
All the impressions received from the participants were very positive, thanking for the originality of the Cube, for having underlined love of neighbour which is at the base of every relationship. More than ¾ stated their intention of using the Cube in their school. Among the many beautiful impressions, one said:
Talk about building community! This is fantastic and all from a simple little cube! Awesome! I especially liked how the cube has been adapted for use across the curriculum (i.e. sports, peace, language, math, etc.) It amazes me how it has become the core of so many areas in the school and at home (i.e. assemblies, peace march, between friends, between family members, etc.). It is really inspiring and I’m going to begin using it at home immediately with my 3 year old and 5 year old who are always at each other’s throats. Thank you so much!
